The slats (lamellas) of the automatic slatted cover are made of extruded PVC or PC (polycarbonate) UV-resistant profiles. PVC cover slats are the most popular on the market and the most economical at the time of purchase; however, it should be noted that the slats are sensitive to direct sunlight when rolled up, posing a risk of deformation. Therefore, on the hottest summer days, it is recommended to cover the slats or keep them unrolled so they remain in contact with the water.
PC slats offer better resistance to low and high temperatures (-30/+120°C) compared to PVC slats (-10/+65°C) and have higher impact resistance (442 J/m) than PVC slats (118 J/m), making PC slats particularly resistant to hail. They are also more resistant to scratches and yellowing, and provide better buoyancy, supporting more weight. Special design polycarbonate anti-algae slats are also available.
